Our Story
35 Years of Kung Fu Excellence
In 1989 Sifu Darrell Levack and Sifu Don Kimble founded the Chinese Martial Arts Academy to bring Kung Fu to the Middletown community. With a mixed background in Taekwondo and Kung Fu, they decided to teach Choy Lay Fut under the guidance of Grandmaster Tat-Mau Wong. With a background in Goju Karate and Taichi, Sifu Daniel Ostrow enrolled in CMA and never looked back. In 2001, we became an affiliate of the Tat Wong Kung Fu Academy and changed our teaching style and curriculum. Sifu Ostrow became the Chief Instructor in 2003 and became the owner in 2007.We have always been a “demanding” school, insisting on the best from our students, and promoting them only when ready. Several of our Senior Instructors have been with us for over 25 years. We have seen generations of students grow up in our Academy and go off to begin their adult lives as Black Belts or higher. It is that experience that keeps us inspired, and determined to get the best out of our students.
